Our location  

Northeastern’s New York City campus is on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, right along East 71st Street between Second and Third avenues. The campus is about four blocks east of Central Park and three miles north of Times Square.

Getting here and getting around


Flights

LaGuardia Airport (LGA)-Closest airport to the Upper East Side; approximately eight miles northeast. 
Travel time: 30-45 minutes, depending on traffic.

JFK International Airport (JFK)-Approximately 16 miles southeast. 
Travel time: 45-75 minutes, depending on traffic.

Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR)-Located in New Jersey; approximately 18 miles west. 
Travel time: 50-75 minutes, depending on traffic.


Public transit

New York City’s public transit system is the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, or MTA. The system runs 24/7.

Subway stations: 

68th Street-Hunter College Station (6 train) 

The closest subway station to campus, located about three blocks south on Lexington Avenue. 

Walk time: 5 minutes 

72nd Street Station (Q train)
About four blocks west on Second Avenue. 

Walk time: 5-7 minutes

77th Street Station (6 train) 

About six blocks north on Lexington Avenue. 

Walk time: 7-8 minutes 

Bus routes: 

Several bus lines run near campus on the major roadways: 

M72 (crosstown): Runs along 72nd Street (one block north)-connects East Side to West Side. 

M101/M102/M103: Runs along Lexington Avenue (north-south). 

M15: Runs along First/Second Avenues (north-south). 

M31: Runs along York Avenue (east of campus). 


Parking

Garden Parking-South side of East 71st Street between Second and Third Avenues. Closest parking to the university entrance, but the garage is small and fills up quickly.

City Parking-North side of East 71st Street between First and Second Avenues.

City Parking-South side of East 71st Street between First and York (vehicles may also enter on the north side of East 70th Street between First and York).
